It reads "Im Jahre deutscher Schichsalswende 1933"- roughly, "In the year of the German Twist of Fate/fateful turn, 1933, and on the other side, "Unser die Zukunft Adolf Hitler" (meaning something along the lines of the Our future is Adolf Hitler"). Ran a Google search for the latter phrase, came up with this: http://www.hagalil.com/judentum/feiertage/...kunst/laerm.htm (the odd objet d'art pictured features the same medal).
Several pictures of the medal also appear at http://www.teutoburger-muenzauktion.de/Web...on813_page2.htm .
Best wishes,
~ Mike
Thanks Mike for information. From your reference url, I found the term "Bayr. Hauptm?nzamt" and this is also marked on the edge of this medal as well.

On the upper photo, what is the word being covered up by the "Bry" of your name?
Hi Paul, it should be "Im".

There are two main sources in German about these medals (first in a journal, second in a book):
Lothar Tewes
in "Beitr?ge zur brandenburg-preu?ischen Numismatik" Heft Nr. 2 1995
"Die preu?ischen Rettungs- und Erinnerungsmedaillen von 1833 bis 1918"
Friedhelm Beyrei?
"Rettungsmedaillen Deutscher Staaten 1782-1918" Norderstedt 2006
Best regards, Komtur.
Hi Komtur
Thank you very much. It is very very useful to me.

If you search on "lifesaving" on the top of main page (for the whole website-- some may be in a Third Reich section or under Individual Research etc etc) the various threads where we've shown what we have will come up.
Hi Rick
Thank you.
I searched but I just found something talking about different variations in between WWI and WWII. For Prussian M1833-1918's variations, I can't found.

Hi All
I search the web and found that the price range of Lifesaving Medal: Prussian M1833-1918 is very large. I found a deal ask for 160 euro for one but I found another one ask for 450 euro for one.
Could anyone tell me why did they have such large different in price?
Thanks

Hi Bryan,
Sadly I'm between scanners. I have an old one but can't use it right now as it requires a card be installed which I can't do in my laptop... and right now my son is using the only extra desktop. Hopefully before long that will revert back to me. But we're in the market for a new one as soon as we have enough set aside. But agree that generally, especially with smaller items it's better to go with the scanner.
You've got a real beaut there in that gold! Hey, you can put that in with that other shipment to me whenever you're ready!!!! My silver is anxious to make it's acquaintance!!!!
Seriously, many thanks for posting it. It's a terrific piece and you are certainly a lucky man to own it.
Thanks,
Dan
Hi Dan, thanks a lot. Last time when I got the order confirmation from the dealer that I can get it. That night, I can sleep well. Also the upcoming few days I can't sit or stand well all the time. My brain only think and think about this baby.
Later, if I can spend more on my collection, I will try to get a siliver which like yours.
Cheers

P.S. I will pack the gold with that spanish type gold together, please wait for the delivery

Thanks Rick
My name on the scans??? Some friends reported to me year ago, some of my scans were stolen by other people and claimed as their own collection. Therefore I slap my name across the scans (even for some common stuff) to increase the difficulity on reuse my scans on other way that I don't expect.
