Hello again. Here are some photos of the K98 and the bayonet.

Hello gents, has been a while since I been here. All work and no play But spent three weeks in cornwall working and managed to have a look around a few car boots. I picked up a K98 for £70 with its deactivation paper work. Not all the serial numbers match but its a nice clean gun and the bolt action works fine and dry fires. I managed to get home to leamington spa at the weekend and got to my local car boot where i found a bayonet for the K98. unfortunatly the scabbard and blade do not have matching serials but are contemporary with each other. the bayonet alsohad the frog with it. I paid £45 for the bayonet. Hoping to get home on sunday for a coupleof days so will try to list a couple of pics...chris burr

Cheers Andy, I thought it may be a fake and that is why i posted the photo and question on here. I saw it for sale and did a little googling and posted here. I did not purchase the badge due to the advice i received from yourself and the info that I obtained from google. regards chris

As i can only find reference to a 1944 gausieger badge..thanks in advance chris...since this originl text it seems this award was not given out until 1938, and were dated 1938, 1939, 1944....so am i to assume this is a fake or have i been mis informed, (by google), concerning history of the award..chris

Well I have been informed by a reasonably reliable source that this is a reproduction. But all is not lost because it will sell alongside all our postcards ,(and other detritus), But I will sell as repro and not try to hoodwink anyone. thanks for help on this one chris

Hi all, thank you for your help with this medal. Most of the medals and badges that come my way I can get some idea of their provenance from where I have got them from, but i could find no record of this particular one but I do like that tinnie of yours. As I already said we deal in postcards and Im always in the market for any that anyone wants to part with. Im also interested in collecting more of the day to day stuff like cutlery, crockery, etc etc.

Oh well real or not someone will buy I suppose. I have attached pic of reverse. Have a had a few bits and bobs come my way wound badges etc, i currently have medal of eastern front but again dont know if real or not. thanks chris

Hi there, I'm new to the forum here. My wife and I deal in postcards and have several NSDAP postcards, but as is all ways we have to buy job lots and sometimes medals and badges come our way. I have picked this up and assume it is a reproduction. It has Hitler on the other side. Any help in identifying it will be gratefully received. regards chris
