    1. Hi Andrey, who mades this? Kapral?

      Dima

      Dima,

As far as I know Kapral don't made fakes, but rather replicas instead.

And their replicas all have a new look as if they left the mint minutes ago, not like fakes that some... ?#%@# do with the only purpose to deceive. That's what this one looks like. Notice that even the S/N seems to have been erased, unless it never existed.

Andrew can you please elaborate a bit more on this sample? Thanks.

      Just my two kopeks,

      Dolf

    2. Hi to all.Have anybody Angola medals foto? Thanks.Ilja

      Hi,

This is the only Medal from Angola that I've seen on pics. Btw sorry for the poor pics, not mine and this is all I have :(

      Dolf

PS: Just adding that I'm not even sure if the ribbon is the right one for this Medal, as in fact I don't even know the real name for this Medal!

Also, checking the ribbons listed on this site (link below) I can't find this one displayed on this Medal!

But on this site they have pictures of another couple of Angolan Medals.

    3. Gentlemen,

      ............................................................................................................................................................

Now, I believe that most countries buy their oil on what is called the World Market and the disparity of prices, country by country, is caused by the taxes applied. Simplistic I know; but a, if not the, major factor.

      Yours truly,

      Wild Card

I guess you're right about that. Also I guess each country, depending on the amount they buy (most probably the more the better), might have "special deals". And then there is the real political aspect, but that's another story... ;)

And Gerd, it seems we (unfortunatelly! :banger: ) "beat" you on those prices here.

      Gas 95 octanes: 1,343?

      Gas 98 octanes: 1,408?

      Special 98 octanes: 1,478?

Diesel is a bit cheaper but I don't have the exact costs.

      Dolf :banger::mad::angry::speechless:

    4. those three 109s are they realy or repos!!!! :P:beer:

      paddywhack,

Sorry, I guess I missed your post somehow.

Anyway, if you mean those aircraft on those initial links posted by Dave, of a couple of 109's still flying, I suppose they are real! Maybe repaired, restored, with some replaced parts, but my guess is that they are real pieces of live History.

As for the other link showing images of a dogfight during the Battle of Britain, well, those are real for sure :D

    5. Hi Mike,

      Nice Badges! ;)

Btw, there are no different reverses concerning J 01 or J 03 (same for J 04); I mean there are no flatback and mirror reverse for these, as it is the case for J 02. Only for J 02 there are flatback and mirror reverse variations.

      Enjoy,

      Dolf

    6. Appearantly there was a fleet review (sorry if my English translation is wrong, in Dutch its a "vlootschouw") to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Henry the Navigator in September, 1960.

A lot of non-portugese naval vessels took part in it. Among it were Dutch and German vessels. I have found a couple of Dutch naval officers which received the medal and a couple of Dutch captains which received either a grand officer or a commander in the order (and the medal).

      Erik,

Many thanks, that makes pefect sense.

    7. The reverse

      Bryan,

Any idea why they have been converted to "pinback"?

Can you please tell the S/N of the one in the left?

Both these seem to be the last variation of T2, right?

But the funny thing is that on the obverse the size of that part where the letters are is not the same on both pieces! The one on the right seems to be larger than the one on the left!

      Thanks,

      Dolf

PS: I'm talking about the two pieces from your Posts #29 & #30.

    8. Dolf,

i have one about 1250 numbers higher than yours:

      http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1541

The serialnumber on yours is okay IMO. But you are right, 666 is evil!!!! Send it to me and i will do an exorcism with it :cheeky:

Nice Red Stars  Love them too!

      Gerd

      Gerd,

I saw yours, on the researched pieces section. Nice one too!

I got this one from a German dealer, so at some moment it was not that far from you :P

The exorcism was ("obviously" ) the 1st thing I did as soon as I got it, so thanks but everything is fine now

      Dolf

    9. Two more that are part of a Group that I had for some time.

According to the S/Ns both should be of the more common variation of T2, Monetny Dvor reverse, semi to full-flared edges, althought I'm not sure about that as they look slightely different from the last one posted above.

S/N 1149464, obverse. This one has a really beautiful dark red enamel!

      Dolf

    10. Here are mine.

Not as spectacular as some others I've seen posted here, but still nice (and with that beautifil and unique Soviet RED enamel...) :P

Using the PMD Guide as a reference this one is a T2 Early Monetny Dvor reverse, with screwpost base, S/N 216669 (hopefully the 666 on it isn't an evil # :cheeky: )

The last digit, the 9, looks a bit funny, what do you gentlemen think? Is it a common 9, or was it engraved by the mint worker in one of those days?!...

      Obverse.

    11. Hello Soviet,

couldn?t find a Gosnak Star in my cellar, but between my bric and brac I found this one.

Are there any names to the serial number 3.659 available?

      regrads

      Andreas

      Andreas,

Which Variation would that one be? A T2 large curved Mondvor reverse (using PMD references)?

Using again PMD as a reference yours is a Early Monetny Dvor reverse, with screwpost base, right Jan?

Nice pieces! You really are successful low S/Ns hunters! ;)

      Dolf

    12. Mondvor,

It's no big surprise, everything (and I mean everything!) is expensive in Western Europe. I don't know about prices in Estern Europe, neither for Medals or anything else, but here nothing is cheap if compared with US prices...:(

I bought stuff from Paretsky years ago (don't know that guy Gruzlak you also mention!) and he never sold his stuff cheap anyway :(

    13. QUOTE(Rick Research @ Jun 2 2006, 20:22 )

Yes but yours are real, not fakes.

      Rick,

      Yes, I know

Unless you mean that for good ones I should have posted them in another thread?...
