    1. Hi,

I had some spare time on my hands and was able to scan my collection of single parade mounted medals.

Attached are most of my singles. If any of you have not tried to collect single mounted medals just look around and see how few single mounted bars there actually are. I enjoy "the hunt" to obtain these single pieces for my collection.

    2. Hi Rick,

Thanks for the comments. From what I am able to gather from his wehrpass he was an instructor of some sort (driving instructor).

Interestingly, there are some other portraits in the photo album of him and 2 others (brothers? One Luft, one Heer). One can see the progress of the Luftwaffe member as he rises from EM ranks to Hauptmann. There are no other pictures of the Heer person so I assume he was KIA.

    3. Hi,

Here is a nice medal bar and Spanish Cross attributed to Karl Rauchhaus. The grouping came with 2 photo albums (assembled post war) and a 57 Wehrpass. Rauchhaus started his career as an Army EM in the mid 30s, transferring to the Luftwaffe/Legion Condor. He would serve in the Luftwaffe throughtout the war eventually returning to the service of his country in 1957. He retired in 1971 at the rank of Oberstabsfeldwebel.

    4. Dear Heiko,

Thanks so much for the picture of the medal. Do you know what it is awarded for? and a stupid question, what is the translation of denkmunze?? (I could not find it in my translator)

By the way, you have a wonderful and quite focused collection which I saw pictured on the forum.

Hello again, to complete this here is a medal bar, a ribbon bar and the batte clasp

      Heiko

    5. Thanks to the both of you. This is the ribbon. The medal that came with the bar was the Hindenburg Next of Kin award, but it just did not look correct.

So I take it that the medal is rare since Rick has not seen many?

The medal is large round and bronze with a sailor waving a flag, or something like that. Haven't got one to show and can't remember the last time I saw one. Your ribbon identification is correct.

I've got a 1924 group photo with a Zahlmeister-Aspirant wearing this (it usually had a BIG bar like "Seekrieg" or something, as his apparently did), but too tiny to see details.

Sailor in a Donald Duck hat fgrasping a flag comes to mind.
