Dear Don,
Yes that Ost front bar from last month was a nice one. I was really surprised it stayed on the for sale section for so long. I was even more surprised that I was the first one to respond! That was the 2nd one I had seen.
Gary
Thanks Rick and Gary for your opinions.I have only seen a few and when this came up I grabed it.
There was a real nice one for sale about a month ago but I missed it.Good to know it is Ok,even if it is ugly

Hi Don,
I saw when this went up for sale. You got a nice original single Ost front for a great price. I have only seen 3 single mounted Ost front medals in my collecting time. I am not sure whay but not many of these were produced and the ones that survived are all in poor condition. I guess if you were on the Russian front you were not going to be attending any parties!
Gary
Hi Don. I think this one is OK, just falls into the "Ugly" Category. You have a nice, double-furled "South-German" style mount that has dried out and shrunk a bit, that's all.

Dear Warlord,
Beautiful and rare bar. Thanks for posting it.
Rick,
Thanks for your comments on the bar. I was hoping you would chime in on this piece. Although I have only been collecting bars for a short period of time I had the same concerns that you pointed out, so I have learned a few good things since joining the forum! You were one of the big reasons I came to this post and both you and Rick have helped me out several times already! Thanks!

Rick bit of a problem, these are diferent groups. I have a number of these and was just trying to show the general field so to say. Griep is with SS Soldbuck and a fantastice range of docs. Jung is the compleat doc set, with ww 1 paybock. The bar is one from the group of other bars that I have inherited. Then I have other items in cases. I put this with recipients in my last book. By the by still want to try and build the group to the bar that you and the other Rick were so kind to help with.

Hi Rick,
So I take it that you do not like it? Is it the order of precedence or do you see something else?
Thanks.

Reminds me of an awkward pubescent semi-date with the mutual object squashed uncomfortably between two suitors.

Dear Alejandro,
Thanks for the information. I had seen some on sites for 2500 Euros to $3000 USD and I thought that was a little expensive.

Hello Gary
I payed for a Kieninger Obergfell navy brass clock 700 euro and for other one 200 euro last year (pirvete purchase), but prices in european auctions are if I remember correctly around 1000/1500 euros, with preserved eagle and swastika
regards

Hi Don,
I could not post a link for some reason. It is listed in Winklers medal bar section. As has been noted the precedence is reversed but the medals are not slanted for wear as in a frack mount. The Danzig Cross is marked for manufacture but since they are so rare I really do not know that much about them.

Why don't you show us a picture

Hi,
What can one expect to pay for a brass Kriegsmarine clock. ( I believe the ones used on the Uboats were the same as the ones used on surface ships.

Hi,
Has anyone seen the Danzig medal bar on Kai Winkler's site? Is this a reverse mounted bar or is this the correct order??
Thanks.

Garth,
This can be summed up in two words...."simply outstanding"! I have never seen a collection of this many musician tabs in one collection. The condition is remarkable also.
Thanks for showing the backs also.

Hi Rick,
The bar does not glow anywehre under a blacklight. The ribbons have the slightest bit of soiling as one would expect on a bar in this condition. Additionally, there is the slightest bit of rub wear to the highlights of the blue ribbon.
Attached is a picture of the reverse. Let me know what you think.

Bob,
Thanks for the comments. I have been purchasing these as I run across them. They are quite hard to find and when you do find them many times the cellophane is falling apart, as is on the Hauptmann Flight set I showed in the post.

Not sure. If someone could post a set of East German or Bundeswehr that might help. I know GP purchased these many years ago when he bought out many old tailor stocks decades ago. These resided in his personal collection.
Gary B
Could these be early East German or even Bundeswehr?

Hi,
Just wanted to see some mint unissued collar tabs still in the original cellophane. I will start out with a few of mine.
First up is a LT for signal.

I recently saw one other set for sale. If you are intersted I will see if I can find them.

Gary,
Thank you for posting these tabs! I have never before heard of or seen a set of embroidered collar tabs.
Are there any others out there?
Regards
Paul

Reverse
The tabs are an identical matched pair, but for some reason the buckram on the revese is different colored. the one tab has a nice dark gold lacquered buckram while the other has a white lacquered buckram backing.

Ribbon ID?
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States

Hi guys,
This should be a simple one....
I recently purchased a medal bar (pictured is the ribbon portion) but am wondering if the 2nd medal that came with the bar is the original. I know that sometimes tailors would put a "well this is close enough" ribbon on a bar for the medal.
From my searches on the net I have seen several variations of the Flanders cross and Kyfhauserbund (sp?) medal but this is a little differnt then the ones I have seen. The ribbons are, from left to right, Black, thin white, black, white, red, thin white, black.
The medal bar came out of an old collection and was supposedly not tampered with. Thanks in advance. I'll reveal the 2nd medal after I hear from you guys (I dont want to give influence any opinions...)
