Hello all
Well...i know its been a while since i have posted the continued stories about the "German Airfields in Denmark".
But i have been very busy and also considered the amount of interest for this topic??
It is a lot of work to prepare these topics, as there is or were a lot of airfields in Denmark and i have material about all of them - so there is material enough to continue this topic - but are you really interested??
See the attached map of German Airfields - and be the judge yourselve - it is a lot of work to prepare a topic on all of these airfields.
But i will be happy to do so - if the interest are present!!!

Hello
Don.....luckily this is not true, there is other excamples. See this link to Atlantikwall Museum Batterie Todt in Calais, France:
http://web.ukonline.co.uk/gaz/bt.html
With regard to rail cannon, I believe the only remaining one, Anzio Annie, is at Aberdeen Proving Grouonds in Maryland.Don
Also see my own pictures from Batterie Todt:

Hello all
No new postings since September
Is there any interest at all for this topic ???
It seems as if a very few members are looking into this tread, am i right ??
As you know I have a lot of input to this subject, but why bother if no one is really interested, then i will rather put my "effort and work" on other specific sites as Axis History Group or other related sites !!!
Any opinions or suggestions here, schould we close this tread ??
Best regards
Kurt

Hello
I am just in the progress of selecting and preparing a series of photos from Fliegerhorst Hadersleben.
But as it now is an active Danish Airfield I have to select my photos carefully, and I am not able to show any from inside the security zones and from operational areas - hope you all understand this !!
I will not have any trouble with the work we have in progress there, and cannot violate the fact that it is inside restricted area.
But....there are lots of pictures anyhow...from other positions around the perimeter !!!!
So stay tuned........but it may take a little while, OK
Here is a picture of our "clubhouse"...the Air Field has given us this bunker for our projectgroup to use.
Its a R639 Hospitalbunker and a very large bunker and we use it for our projectmeetings and as....yes "our Clubhouse"

Last:
This is what the Germans had buildt, work in progress, and what was planned to be buildt on the airfield.
In our work there we have come to the conclusion, that there was buildt a lot more than that, as we until now have found several bunkers and emplacements which are missing in the German papers.
That includes the airfield area but also outside the airfield we have found a lot - especially flakemplacements and positions for close defence.

Hello
Thanks for your comment - Al !!
As said I will continue with a new airfield - this time:
Fliegerhorst Hadersleben - now an active Danish airfield ( FSN Skrydstrup ) in the south of Jutland.
I am in a research- and registration group there, and we are in the progress of registrating all the former Luftwaffe activities on the airfield - a very large task. We began this project almost 2 years ago, and we are not even halfway yet !!!
But more on that later, as a beginning - I will show the German Baufortschrittsplan for the airfield.

Hello
As said, I will continue with another Airfield soon.
If you have any requirements and / or questions regarding Rom Airfield, please make them now.
As you can see, I have a personal attitude toward this specific airfield and the area over here in western Jutland, because of my Father and Grandfather?s relations to the place....but thats another story

Hello
Also the other bunkers, and the concrete runways and dirpersals / fieldhangars are very visible.
All in all an area of great interest - if you want to "adventure" these remains in some special enviroments, and the nature is great.

Hello
Before i close the story about Rom Airfield, and move on to one of the other Airfields, I will just show some images from Google Earth.
Showing the StP. Berlin in the quarry, very visible that the bunkers are today situated on top of the remaining soil in the quarry.

Hello

Any comments, are you good people still interested in the continuing story of Luftwaffe Airfields in Denmark, or schould i "pack it in" and find another topic ???
Any questions - any comments please ??

Hello
Two MG bunkers to close defence of the airstrip. They were equipped with 2 cm Flak 38 guns.

Hello
The large Sanit?tsbunker / Lazarettbunker R638 in two storage situated in StP. K?ln west of the main road ( on my grandfathers farmland ) is also accesible and equipped with light and information about the airfields history - open for visitors as a sort of "open museum" telling of the area and giving some routes to walk in the area.

Hello
Its been a while!
Yes I have info about Vig.
I dont have much, as it is a small airstrip (as you say yourselve),
I see that you are from Denmark, right - do you attend any Danish sites for Military History, such as fx 4045.dk?
Send me a PM.
