Hello all
Just to continue the story of "Gefechtsstand Silkeborg Bad" - here is the Frontpage and a map from the Pioneerstaff which also were situated here at Silkeborg Bad, or had their offices in town.
The "Festungs Pionier Stab 31" was in command of the building of fortifications in Denmark. And these two pages that i show here is only the front page and a situation map as of 15 january 1945 in Denmark.
I have the whole "Baufortschrittsmeldung" which is 341 documents, maps and descriptions of the building state in Denmark ( on computer it is 842 MB ).

Some Sites may prove to be identical, due to the location names are mentioned with different local towns nearby. So it is important that you provide information, so we can make the list as accurate as possible.
In the end I have to verify this information against official German ducuments and other archive material, for instance the war diary of Flak.Reg. 155 (V) !!!

Hello all
To draw some attention to this topic, please see:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=93265
I will bring my revised list of suggested V1 Sites here. It is a list put together with information from different sources ( Imperial War Museum and BA-MA Archives and informations from books and other websites ) so I - in the end - will have to check this information up against proper and reliable sources.
But...the sites mentioned here, I have pictures from, and have the Site number and geographical location...so !!!

Hello John
Thanks for the link, it is certainly a good one - I did know it on beforehand, though ;O)
But never the less, its good, and i have been studied the 155 Flak.Reg - abt I to XI. It seems that the parts of this Regiment was deployed in the Rouen area and were active from there, as the V to IX Abt. were in the Cotentin area, but after the intensive bombardements by the RAF from Dec. 1943 - they mostly served as decoys, so that RAF would not bomb the other sites in the Rouen area.
How ever the Cotentin units in fact were active or not, that is one of the questions here. As you can see it is -although in planning - certainly that sites from no.1 to no.1016 were actual, but were they operational ?
So there is much to "dig into" and research in the V1 - V2 and V3 positions in France, Belgium, Holland and al the way back to Germany - not to speak of Peenem?nde and sites in Poland.
I hope to get an ongoing discussion on this topic - so any posting of information are most welcome.
That goes for information on other websites and to sources, books and archive material.
Here an old poster of V1 ( we must not forget the Humor ) !!!

Hello all
I have for a period of time been working, doing some research on the V1 / V2 and V3 sites in France.
Now i have run into some "dead ends" and would like to ask for the help of some experts on this topic !!
Concerning the V1 sites i have placed / named the sites with the German number and the geographic name of the sites as follows:
Sites 11 to 18
Sites 45 / 59 / 65 / 90 / 99 / 113 / 122
Sites 139 to 148
Sites 185 / 196 / 197 / 198 / 200 / 205 / 209 / 212 / 214 / 218
Sites 223 to 242
Sites 245 / 248 / 255
Sites 608 / 620 / 623 / 633 / 635 / 640 / 641 / 643 / 645 / 646 / 647
Sites 681 / 968 / 688 / 689 / 691
Sites 1001 / 1003 / 1004 / 1014 / 1015 / 1016
As you can see i am missing some numbers / names between the above mentioned, and i am interested in references as to books or archivematerial to fill out this list.
Also any references and information on the units regarding V1 - V2 and V3 sites / positions.
Does any have materials about this topic, i will be very interested in any information you can provide.
This goes for the V2 and V3 sites as well !!
There is a bit confusion about the correct german name for the sites, they are named in many different ways as to which type it is, such as:
Feltmulag / Feuerstellung / Versorgungsstelle / Wasserwerk etc, etc - but which is belonging to what sites ?
I hope someone can help me here, thanks.

Hello all
An idea - would it be an idea to make a "Now and Then" topic from the above link ??
Bring an ID picture from the old photographs, and if possible bring a new picture from the same place too - or just ID the photo with place, name etc. etc. !!
So - what do you say ??

Hello all
I must admit that i havent got a clue about the shown picture ??
But...if you are looking for a picture of a particular airplane, here is a link worth trying:
http://www.airliners.net/search/indexsearc...irstl=A&lastl=B
Arranged alphabeticaly by name of airplane, can it get any easier ??
For instance, there is over 1000 pictures of the Spitfire !!
Have fun !!!

Hello
Thanks for the very interesting link. There is a lot of info on this site - and the pictures show the orign of many "bunker items" to be used in other fortifications in the years after 1935 - 38.
The Germans took many of "their" developments from these fortificationlines over in the east.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello all
For further information, also see this link - please:

For a "Google" search try:
Flaktowers, Flakbunker, Vienna Flak, Berliner Flakt?rme etc. etc.
There is a lot of information "out there" !!

Hello all
I have over a peirod of time tried to identify the different types of Flaktowers in Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna.
In periodic photos it is not always easy to determine the excact types from each others, and thereby with certanty say if it is the one from the other.
Here i have tried to determine which types were build. It is models of the different types showing the types and which differences there is - in:
Berlin: Humboldthain, Friedrichshain and Tiergarten ( Zoo )
Hamburg: Heiligengeistfeld, Wilhelmsburg
Vienna: Augarten, Arenbergpark, Esterhazypark / Stiftskaserne
I have several periodic pictures, and if any of you have pictures, please show them here.
If any have comments / corrections to the listing of photos, i am most interested in further information on this topic.
Please see: http://community.webshots.com/user/kstdk16
Feel free to comment and add to this topic.

Hello Darrel
There were several "Lines" in Italy where the Panther Turrets were mounted.
http://www.gothicline.org/inglese/offensiva/offensiva.htm
http://members.tripod.com/~aries46/gemmoliv.htm
The attack on the Panther Turret you are talking about - "could" have been this one, See picture attached ??

Flak Towers
in Battlefields, Bunkers & Concrete
Posted · Edited by kstdk
Hello
That sounds familiar
But then again, of course we have to make a selection, when I go to France on a "Hardcore" Bunkertrip - i do it with "the boys" !!
Last time we had a family holliday for 3 weeks in France, we had one week in the Calais region - the girls on the Beach and strolling the towm, and me driving around the countryside hunting for concrete - then one week in Paris ( no concrete, well hardly none !! ) and the last week in Normandy - the whole family visited the most famous sites there.
A very succesful trip for all involved - and everybody were happy, and even still talking about it today !!
This year the hollidays ( my hollidays ) will be in France again, hunting for V1 sites - and visiting this "new" site in Maisy !!!
Better luck in Vienna next time
