ok i receive the mssage, and thanks for all
your comments
nope. nope. nope.
both are books in my library and both are
scholarly efforts on the part of the respective
authors. they are complimentary and both deserve
a spot in almost any militaria library!

so as far i understand, you recommend the new republished Iron Time than the iron cross 1939 right??
previtara is working on the second edition as we "speak".
i saw him ~two weeks ago, and he's deleted errors,
added some new pieces, but it will be a refined
version of the first.

I believe Bender has a note "OUT OF PRINT" for the book. I'm not sure if that means he's sold out ... or no more are being made. However, if he has any left, that's definitely the way to go. He offers 20% off for WAF members
thats correct Darrell, ithink the book is not anymore inthis bookstore, ill continue my search, some guy wants 130 usdll, for it in ebay , i think to expensive.
by the way Darrell ?have you feed any german family lately?

A (his) profession is given as gardner in post #1
The entry on the left in post #2 indicates he had superficial injury near an old operation scar on his left cheek. The entry on the right might belong to it, in which case the injury was caused by an artillery shell or splinter.
The entry top right in post #3 also refers to a profession, coachman, which may be the Soldbuch holder's profession or that of his father.
The entry in post #6 indicates he had convalescent leave (Genesungsurlaub).
David
Hi David when you mean "coachman" its like sports coach, or anything else
