[attachmentid=31424] Benten, Very nice and looks professionally done. This custom piece took me quite a while to identify. It came from a dealer as a "homemade industial logo". I just liked the green enamel so I went for it. I posted it on forums and asked around to no avail. Then one day I was casually looking thru my Husken book and lo and behold.......... What do you think? Robert

[attachmentid=30335] Don, This is my first glimpse at this rare badge other than in reference books. Congrats. In this instance, did you happen upon the photo first and then the badge or vice versa? That is a great way to collect. In essence, you are putting a face to the badge. I wonder how many of those were issued. Probably not too many I suspect. Thanks for showing badge and photo. Robert

[attachmentid=29629] Don, Same maker, diferent placement of marking. I don't care for the solder residue on mine. Maybe a re-attachment? Thses are on the scarce side, no? Thanks for posting the photo. Thanks eve more for starting this thread. Now it is so busy we are all posting at once. Feast to famine to feast. Robert

[attachmentid=29607][attachmentid=29608] Here is another version of RLB. Cone is a little vague in this area I believe. Were there 4 types of RLB badges? Don, if you have the time and inclination, could you please show a reverse image of your Sangerbund? I have one as well but am not completely comfortable with it. I am not too worried in that it came from a well-known dealer with the lifetime guarantee. My only question there would be his life or mine? Have a great day. Robert

[attachmentid=28474][attachmentid=28475] Gents, I know the copycats have gotten theirclaws into this organization as well. Not to the same degree as the NSAD badge I beleive but nevertheless I see a lot of stinkers out there. I have allways assumed that this one is authentic even though Cone's example has a maker's name on the reverse and mine does not. Mine appears to be well worn to the dgree that the attaching pin is loose from the plate. Please post yours if you have the time and inclination so we can compare. As allways, thank you for your time and courtesy. Robert

[attachmentid=28422]John, Do you have any clues as to what that is? You must have been shocked when it came out of the ground. Thanks for the advice. I will try that method. Also, when you get a chance, could you look at the ring on your Saar medallion and see if there is a small "tit" on it. This appears not to be an imperfection but a part of the ring. Take a look. Robert

Thanks John and Don, I am debating whether or not to clean it. I got this along with an AH medallion that I've since passed along from a group close to my home. They save all of their vacation and sick days and spend it in Europe with a metal detector looking for relics. Those were two of the things they found. My dilemma is whether or not to clean it to prove its' authenticity or leave it alone. I have yet to decide. Talk Soon, Robert

Thanks a million WARLORD. Perhaps I will attempt to gently clean it and bring out the details. You are a great help. First one for me to see to compare.

Maybe it lost some of its' detail from being in the ground.....I am wanting to see an above grouind example before jumping to such an abrupt decision. I do know some of the Saar tinnies are fakers though. Thank you for your imput Warlord. Robert

[attachmentid=28140] Gents, This medal is ground-dug so please forgive the earthen look. What I was wondering was if anyone had one of these in wearable condition with ribbon or what-have-you. Maybe a photo of one in wear. Notice the fine detail on his ribcage. Have a Good Day. Robert
