The first one you have shown is in FoxHole Volume 3 Item 1100. The details onthe one in the book are a lot more defined and crisp. Combine that with the strange pin attachment set-up would logically lead me to conclude that it is a copy. It is hard for me to conceptualize someone going through such an effort to re-create an item that is worth so little monetarily. Now I am having doubts about the one I previously liked that you have shown seeing that it had the same pin attachment configuration.

Very interesting Tinnie you have there. The Kranz I mean. I admire the detail of the town scene. And the clock on the tower reads 9:15. I also find the pin attachment configuration very unique and I don't recognize the maker either. I would guess a very small firm and an uncommon tinnie. That's a nice one. Robert

Yes, and look at the head and beak of the Eagle. It would be interesting to find another 1940. Perhaps another member can show their example. I too do not have one of these in my collection. Robert

Here is an image with the attaching pin open. It looks good to me. There is evidence of honest wear front and back. More examples to view would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I do not have any of Angolia's reference books. Stop buying badges and start buying more reference material. Thanks agin Gents. Robert

These are one of those pins that you can never seem to find in a good condition, they are always a little tired looking.
Looking forward to seeing the book.
Cheers
Don
Don, Quite right. Herr Poellath added his fair share of zinc to add to that tired look. Time to give this one its'annaul vaseline treatment. This one and the minature came together. Robert

Gents, Thanks for your replies. I was not too comfortable about getting it on a Friday morning with 4 minutes of research. This explains my getting a COA with it. I mean, in all seriousness, how the devil could anyone make well thought-out purchase in that short a period of time? I will take some better images tommorow (Tuesday) on my day off. Thanks again Robert

Benten, Thanks for showing your example. Mine seems to lack the little alignment o and the RZM stamp on mine isn't as crisp and detailed as yours. I got this impulsively from a well-known dealer with all of 4 minutes of analysis time. I did do something I have never done before and that is get a COA with it. So, if It appears in any way un-authentic, feel free to say so. Allopinions are welcome. One question slightly off-topic. When returning an item is a refund given for the COA as well. I would think so. HA Ha! Robert

Gents I assume this is a replacement issue as eveidenced by the B instead of a serial number. I am hoping some other members would have one of these examples to post for comparison. Thank you for your time and courtesy and have a nice Sunday. Robert

[attachmentid=37967][attachmentid=37968]And for you as well. Although a much maligned collectible, I find these very interesting and enjoyable. And not too hard on the pocketbook........yet.

[attachmentid=37962][attachmentid=37963]Pete, That's the one. Curious how the swastika was omitted on your red one. I don't recall if the one I sold had one or not but I do remeber it having an unfamiliar maker's name on the reverse. Is your green marked at all? Gents, Has it ever been this quiet? Well I just received this DBV stickpin in the post box today. When I look at it under magnification I notice the B is not quite as distinct as the images in Husken's book. I am hoping a member has an example to compare. The reverse is nicely marked S&L. Here we go. Get those scanners warmed up. Robert

Gents, I thought I would show my R.D.KI. stickpin. I also have a Mitgliedsbuch for a poultry breeder that I got along with this. I'll scan it later. Also inside the buch is a card with an interesting stamp of a rooster on it. Robert

About Your Tinnie Mr. Avitas. I will read from Foxhole Volume II. Page 17 "Kreistreffen Der NSDAP. Paderborn. 16 u. 17. OKT. 37. District Meeting of the Nazi Party at Paderborn. Matte grey finish. Solid construction. Pin back. Hallmarked. Approx. 2.00 X 1.40" in size." It is valued at $10 in 1980 so you can take it from there. If a collector just has to have this one, it could be worth $45. If not, $25-$35. Of course we are talking US dollars. Perhaps someone with Pounds Sterling could chime in or Euros for that matter. It is a nice original tinnie. I hope this helps. Have a good day. Robert

Gents, Here is my silver example. I am curious as to the criteria for earning these awards. Would the higher grades be for time in servide or service duties or a combination of both? Thanks for showing your example and Don the "in wear" photo. Robert
PS My example is rather light in hand.
