    1. Don Do you mean the attaching pin and plate or the face of the badge itself? The diferences I see between our 3 badges on the front is waer of the black, especially the arms with the small ys on the end. There are traces of them on my example just barely visible under a loup. Stephens has worn away a bit also but the ys can still be seen with the naked eye. I will search for more diferences as time permits. Feel free to move mine around as you wish for a side by side view of front and reverse. Robert

    2. I thought i would post my 1942 example. This particular badge is present in one of Angolia's references. A member of another forum has that particular book and hopefully he will help shed some light on these. Will inform as information becomes available. I personally don't like this badge. Why so many 1942's would be my first concern. A respected collector/dealer went so far as to tell me there were more 1942s because that was the first year of the Axis alliance in World War. :speechless:

    3. No doubt the original owner of your badge was very proud of his achievement. So much so he hid it so well it took 60= years for someone to find it. The desk is a treasure too. Are the joints dove-tailed? Robert :speechless1:

PS How was the pulse rate when only you knew what you had found? I get that way on the rare occasion when I get a nice flea market find but nothing in comparison to this.

    4. Thanks Gents Yes, it is quite heavy and does not have the dreaded crimped vertical pin plate like the M1/34 Frauenschafts we see out there. If memory serves, Thuringia had one of the highest if not the highest majority in voting for National Socialism and had a very high percentage of the population in the NSDAP. Its a keeper for me and will be resting next to my Saarfalz badge as they are similar in shape and size. Robert

      Don Tafel 21. Correct. :jumping:

    5. Gents I am not in the habit of acquiring an award I have never seen before but I couldn't resist the enamel work and craftmanship of this piece. Would anyone here have one to show or have a reference to its' existence? Attaching pin plate marked Wernstein/Jena. Thanks for looking and have a good day. Robert

PS The speck by the "I" in Thuringen is from my scanner, sorry

    6. Peter Yours looks slightly diferent than mine including the knurling on the needle being 2 more knurls higher. Under the tarnish I can see some solder as well on mine. If you like and Don feels inclined or Nick for that matter, we could move our obverses and reversestogether for comparisons sake. I need to spring for a decent measuring device and thank you for the scan. Is there a brand name on it? Finally, and most importantly, what did you have for Sunday dinner? My wife is from Navala, Finland and if I twist her arm she makes a great dish called Pasti. Is that served in Sweden as well? Good Sunday Robert
