Here is the ribbon bar I mentioned earlier with the painted Russian Brotherhood In Arms ribbon. I have only posted pictures of thje one bar as the bars are indentical. They came with two Generalmajor's uniform's that belonged to the same person.
Regards,
Gordon
Thank you very much Gordon! is a very nice bar!! the hand painted ribbon looks very nice compared with the printed ones.
I am still wondering if there is any thing that helps to recongize a paper ribbon that could be a modern print ( fake) and an original one like you post in a realy good condition??? I am not talking about paper ribbons put together, I mean about modern print paper ribbon vrs. an original one.
I hope I explain myself clearly

I think many kings, princes etc had little "doodads" they gave out as a sign of appreciation, either as engraved snuff boxes, or unofficial pin on awards. Not to be worn on any uniform of course.
I heard every baker and candy shop owner near carinhall got these ;-)
Very funny!!! your right

Hello Humberto,
Seems that this thread did not get the attention it does deserve, the so caleld "Hausorde .... HG" is a strange beast indeed.
I have no acces towards my literature but iff not mistaking i think that there was a article on these in the Patzwall magazine. That can be found for sure on the website of Patzwall.
As far as i do know it was a non official recognition from HG, he was after all very crazy about juwelery + keep in mind that such a thing was in earlyer times something that was rather for royal houses. In that way he was rather equal towards Napoleon. They both adopted certain symbols to create a myth arround them .
For example:
* Napoleon = adopted many symbols from Roman Times etc ...
* Herm G?ring = he adopted also many symbols and in that it fitted to make a so called 'House Order", in that way he could use the system of awarding orders to get a certain shine and create a sort of medieval brotehrship.
Very interesting when you think on this.
Cordial greetings,
Hello Stijn,
thank you for your reply, very interested in deed, I think that were not many examples ( if this was not a unique one) of non official personal medals awarded by the high ranking members during the third reich.
any idea of to who/how many were awarded??
do you know another non official personal award like this??
Cordial Greetings,
Humberto

Humberto,
Sorry, but most of my collection is packed away ready for a move. I did the scan some time ago. When my collection sees the light of day again (probably in January), I'll get the measurements for you.
Rick (Research) has a similar example and can probably give you some dimensions.
David
Thank you very much David! I will ask Rick.

I suspect it was a economy measure to save money in production of these ribbons. Most early DDR medals, badges and ribbons were of high quality. But this quality declined over the years, especially in the 80s. Yes the front is a plastic cover. I'm not knowledgeable about other East Block countries to comment about their ribbon bars. Keevin
Thank you for your help Keevin, this kind of ribbon bars ( paper ) are common to find?
thanks,
Humberto

And lastly the components of a 'paper' ribbon bar -
Hello all,
ehrentitle, do you know why the DDR used to make the ribbon bars from paper?? only they used this material or all the Eastern Block countries too??
the ribbon bar front cover is plastic?
Thanks,
Humberto

First one is Heinrich Hoffmann, second is Wilhelm Anhalt, third could be Wilhelm Meentzen althought I haven't been able to find another good photo of him to be 100% sure.
Ingsoc,
are you sure about the name's of the first 2?

I thought that this pattern was East German as well.
I still see these on ebay for about 20-30 dollars a set. Despite this, please bear in mind that they are real.
