I am curious to find out what purpose this flag might have served. Written in Ink is an inscription saying that it was captured in "Brahalsdrof" It is one sided, and has tassles hanging from the bottom. Has anyone seen this type of banner/flag before?Thanks.

hello. My Grandfather brought these shoulder boards back after serving in WW2. He was in the 8th infanrtry division, US army. I am trying to find out what uniform they may have come off of. I cannot find a single Schuma shoulder board that looks like this. I also think that it is strange for him to have picked these up when he was fighting in France, Belgium, and Germany.It says in his blue book that the 8th made it as far as the Elbe river. I would appreciate any info you could give me. Thanks.
