    1. Ruddock of Alnwick. A surprising card as no Battalion numerals are depicted and honours missing from the Kings Colour.
    2. Holloways, beautiful card depicting the Drummers Colour. Sadly they still got the Drum Majors plume length wrong.
    3. A bigger leap forward to 1990 and how the Pioneer Sgt, 1st Bn, RRF used to look. Still very smart.
    4. Taking a massive leap forward in time to post 1881 and a beautiful study by Simkins of the Northumberland Fusiliers. This is when uniformity works well and looks good, especially the Pioneer Sgt.
    5. Nice photo's TI and have to agree regarding the Pioneers. Whats gone wrong there then? No scarlet, no beard, no badge, incorrect apron and what on earth are they doing with those gauntlets??? Pioneer of the 5th Foot c.1812. Appears that the apron wasn't white at all.
    6. (7) Colonel of the Battalion, Lord Algernon Percy, by whose kind permission these photo's were taken.
    7. (6) The new Colours march back to the line in 'slow time' and to the the tune of 'God Save the King'.
    8. (5) Presentation of the new Battalion Colours, by His Grace the Duke of Northumberland, KG, ADC
    9. (3) Trooping the old Colours with the Band turning down the line. Sadly the glass plate cracked hence the line.
    10. (2) Carrying the old Militia Colours presented 1862. Left Lieut Algernon Percy, centre Sgt Sykes, right Lieut Lamb.
    11. 15th July 1909 Alnwick Pastures and a series of photo's taken by Sgt Well, 5th Fusiliers. The 3rd(Reserve)Bn, NF are being present with new Colours. (1) The Battalion parade at Moor Laws, Alnwick.
    12. The same Colours & Drums of the 1st Bn, NF taken a year later in the Citadel, Cairo 1898. Sorry about the quality, but I haven't got one of these fancy programmes to do away with the marks.
    13. Thanks Leigh. 1st Bn, Northumberland Fusiliers, Colours & Drums stacked in a barren barrack room c.1897.
    14. March past of the Colours, 1st Bn, RRF - St.Georges Day 1990. I didn't include the Bn Pioneer as Leigh has already covered that one. All of these post card photo's were originally taken by Brian L.Davis, who is more familiarly known for his book "British Army Uniforms & Insignia of WWII". He also did a lot of stuff on German uniforms etc of WWII.
    15. C.O.'s Northumbrian Piper - St.Georges Day 1990. I actually have a plaid brooch as worn here. The back of the grenade had the lugs removed, was then filled with resin and a large medal bar, with pin, inserted into the resin and screwed into position.
    16. Same time & place - L/Cpl Drummer, with a jaunty look. Anyone got a spare drummers Balderick plate with badge?
    17. Same time & place - Drum Major, 1st Bn, RRF. The hackle should infact follow the bearskin up and over the crown, finishing over on the upper opposite side, which is how the old 5th Fusiliers wore theirs. Plus his fur cap grenade appears to be missing.
