There are 2 Emil Baars on the volksbund.de site:
One is listed as a reservist who was killed/missing 15.12.1915, the other was a kanonier who was killed/missing 9.5.1918. They do not mention units.
I'm assuming that the kanonier isn't him, as he wasn't in the artillery. My question is about the reservist. This couldn't be him, right? The i.d. tag is the 1916 version, and his date is for December 1915. Does this mean he survived the war?

I just received this wound badge, and am wondering about the lump on the reverse (in the sword hilt) and the wear on the side. Can any one help me? Is this an okay badge? I'm less concerned about condition than originality.
Thanks in advance.

This is my new EKII. Any opinions are welcome.

You may be right about it going on a person. The metal gauge is pretty thin. I took a photo with a penny for comparison.

Here are better photos with a straighter angle of the crown.

This was a ground dug item. I believe it is brass. The person who owned it dug in Pennsylvania and Virginia. He is deceased, so I have no idea if this was dug by him in the USA. I wonder if there's a possibility of a Civil War connection (British observers).

I wanted to ask for opinions on this box, if I could.

Was it common to stitch the top? Were many maker marked?

I just acquired this model 37 sidecap and was hoping for more information about it. It has King's crown buttons on the front. The interior has the broad arrow and is marked L. Silbertston & Son. It looks like the top was hand stitched for a tighter fit. It also looks to have had a badge with a vertical pin in it Thanks in advance.

Could RLMA in this instance be short for Royal Marines?

I just purchased this Eickhorn sword. It was being sold as a WWI sword. From what I've read, I believe it to be a heer officers sword ca. 1935. Would this be correct?
Thank you,
Paul
