A couple of years ago I bought a lot of photos, many were different but a group contained the same man. I would like to piece together some of this man's life by the photos I have, to find out his unit, rank, where he was likely to have served. The photos appear to cover a few years. I would appreciate any help with translation or any information.

It came with a postcard, which I hoped might five some clue to the original owner. If any one could help translate I would be appreciative, my apologies for the poor shots.

I've been after a Lubeck cross for a while, and a few months ago I managed to acquire on a bar, which was a bonus! Interestingly the 25 Year faithful service cross has been denazified and is clearly a later addition.

Steve, some very nice pieces you haev there, a nice array!

I am struggling to find fault with the reverse but agree an unusual combination flying in the face of regulations.

I was looking for some opinions on the set up of new recent aquisitions. The safety pin set up is unusual but I think I have seen it before, looks quite practical. Any views would be greatly appreciated.

Nicely presented, particularly like the two KVKIs and the Ek award documents, very nice!

I am inclined to go with heart disease or TB. Certainly why life expectancy was lower due the period, this was in part due to the much higher infant mortality rate which tended to drag down the overall life expectancy figures.

Here is a Sachsen KVK, I was pleased to get this one, but now I am a little worried about the suspension loop, it does not conform with others I've seen. However, there is an example on David Danner's website that does appear to exhibit a similar set up, any opinions would be appreciated?

Interestingly the ribbon does not appear correct, at first I presumed it had been married up with a random piece of ribbon, but the ribbon is stitched in place, odd.

I don't see any problems with the nice sharp scans, as long as no white is glowing under a blacklight. The condition of awards and ribbons match, that's an early KVK2X =

Excellent! Rick and everyone else, thanks for your informed comments. As a small time collector this was a big purchase for me even though it was good value, and I doubt I will ever possess another non combatant EK or NSDAP medal, and certainly not together on a medal bar!

Can't say I care for the catch, but not completely unknown for wire stock like that to be used. Is the metal plate backing inside the bar-- should be visible by gently peeking under the sides-- steel or brass?

A CLEAR scan of the front and back at monitor screen size would really help. That reverse shot is like something off of eBay!

Rick, point taken about the reverse pic! Here are two more, which I hope are better. The plate is steel you can just see a corner poking out on the left handside. Though, apologies for the flash.

I noticed underneath the folds of the KVK you can just see another westwall ribbon thats been used as padding.

The stitching is a little ragged for my liking, however thats just subjective. Does anyone believe the pictures of the reverse reveal any obvious misgivings?
