Thank you ever so much for your help. Strangely, I have no problems getting North Korean Items but I have a hell of a time finding Cuban items.

Hello Everyone, I pick up this Cuban patch along with a few other items and I have no idea what's it for? If anyone could tell me what it is for and the age of it? I would be deeply grateful.

Hello everyone, I just pick these items up in Japan and I was wondering if anyone would happen to know what are for and what do they say?
Thank you.
P. S. I am guessing that they from the 1930s to WW2? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Dave is correct, they do say "commandos" (maghawir). There are several Arabic words which translate as commandos and are more widely used. I've only seen the Lebanese Army use the term maghawir.
Here's a pic of a Lebanese maghawir insignia I found on this blog: http://histoiredesforceslibanaises.wordpress.com/
South Lebanese Army insignia?

Thanks for the in depth explanation Chris. Most likely those tabs were imported into Iraq? Nice lot of insignia Lion. Were they purchased from a vendor or liberated directly?
It was a vendor purchased, now all my uniform groups were liberated directly.

The other tab says "Special Forces" (al-Qawaat al-Khaasah")
Thank you for the translation.

Hello Everyone, I pick this insignia with a RG grouping that was brought back from the Gulf War ( 1990- 1991). Does anyone know what it could be for?

Ok, please let me know. I spoke with someone on North Korean Awards fourm as well. I was told that he had gotten these badges from North Korea, both with and without the writing on it. Maybe they were made there?
Please let me know what you come back with.

Hello Everyone, I got this badge with a group of North Korean items. Would anyone happen to know what it say? I think it may have some ties with Syria? ( Bottom left corner.)

Not Turkish but the belt buckle is an Army EM/NCO from the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. I am sure that the belt buckle was worn by the Republic of Afghanistan troops as well up until 1992. When the government collapse partly because of the lost of support from the Soviet Union.

It's always interesting to see who was friends with who, based on the style of military tailoring, award design and so on. No offence to My American brothers, but I have always thought that the US version of the pickelhaube [sp?], post Franco-Prussian War, was one of your army's less successful forays into head gear.
Similarly, East bloc medals seem sadly lacking in imagination and artistic merit and it always pains me to see the lock step designs used by almost every nation with socialist leanings. On the flip side, so to speak, Our Canadian Prime Minister was in South America this past few days and reviewed one guard of honour wearing something which looked awfully like WWII vintage German helmets. I think it was in Peru but wasn't clever enough to check. The military academy badge is a lovely piece but the medals, not so much.
It would had been Chile since they are very very and I do mean very Germanic with their parades.

I have seen those two patches on syrian uniforms on the left before but the one of the right looks french to me for some reason.

Hello Riker,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. The other items were a Military Academy Graduation Badge and a Territorial Troops Militia shoulder sleeve insignia. Nothing too special.
