The first one says "Chemical, Petroleum, Mining and Quarry Trade Union" (translated going off the Latin initials; the Arabic says General Syndicate rather than "Trade Union"(
The second one says "Air Defense Technical Secondary [School]".
Thank you so much for your help!!!

Good morning from Riyadh, The shape and in part the design of this medal appears similar to and taken from the Loyalty or Merit medals of the 1960's from the reign of Mohammed Zaher Shah. I cannot read the upper word on the reverse but the lower word appears to be "khidmat" (service). The obverse bears a map of Afghanistan and an inscription above and below but this is unclear. Notwithstanding its poor manufacture and amateur ribbon it is an interesting piece. Regards, Owain,
Hello Owain,
It is good to hear from you. Thank you for your help. I am starting to think that this is a more current reissue of the old service medal.
Were they all this poorly cast?
Paul
Hello Paul,
Are you talking about this medal or other Afghan medals?

I have a feeling that the first one is WW2 Italian but the other I am not sure about.

The medal has the outline of a map of Iraq and the three words from the bottom clockwise read, "Honour, Nation, Service". With the red 'ribbon' would this be some form of local wound medal? Regards, Owain
Hello Owain,
I am not sure, I have been told two different things about them. First, I was told that the medal was an Honorable service medal that was suppose to be awarded before 2003 but I have also been told that it is a post-2003 award?

The brassard is from the militia of the Amal, the main Shi'ite faction in the Lebanese Civil War. It suffered pretty heavily in that war and most of its power among Lebanese Shi'ites has been taken by the Iranian-backed Hizbullah.
The logo at the top is a stylized version of "Amal", which is an acronym of the group's name. The full name is at the bottom - أفواج المقاومة اللبنانية - afwaj al-muqaawama al-lubnaaniya, or "Lebanese Resistance Battalions"/"Lebanese Resistance Regiments".
I'm not sure about the word in between. "صور" means "photo" or "picture", so unless there's some other meaning I am missing, maybe the brassard is for a camera team. One of our better Arabic speakers may have a better idea.
Thank you, Dave... you are ever so helpful as well!!!
I have been doing some digging and I think "صور" is photo(s)
Would you happen to have any information on the medal by chance?

Hello Everyone, It's been a while since I have made any post or anything but I have been away. At any rate, I was wondering if I could get some help with a few items. The first one is a Iraqi medal that I never seen before. I was able to get a number of these with their cases. Would anyone happen to have any idea about what it is and what is it for? and is it pre 2003 or post 2003?
The second items belongs to someone I know. I know that it is most likely from the Lebanese civil war but would anyone happen to have a clue about what it's says?

Thanks for posting!
The 60mm is not a very common mortar caliber -- the biggest user was the US, particularly the WWII-era M2 and M19 mortars. Not sure if the UK used this. I'm sure a few made their way to the Middle East, including (possibly) Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc. Yugoslavia also made a 60mm mortar (M57), not sure if any made their way to the Middle East.
Chris
I think you maybe on to something
oes not seem to correspond with either Yugo or US 60mm rounds......
I found this and it seen to be a match.

Indeed it is.
Regardless, a unique and overall cool item.

Lion101,
I can't help you with the first two patches, but the last two do say "National Guard" (haras al-watani), so your information is correct.
Chris
Thank you for that Chris, any clue about the cross rifles and the grenade?
I am guessing the grenade is EOD and the rifles are just basic?
This is the first time I have seen these insignia. I really like the tank patch a lot. Very impressive collection.
I do, I know that since the war of 1990-1991. The kuwaiti armed forces had change their insignia nearly seven times but I think these are recent.

I love the dark olive green. I assume that this is the color for medical troops too? Thank you.
Your welcome. I am going to have to look into that. I will get in touch with someone I know and ask about it.

I got one of these long ago, and if I remember correctly, it's for the Governor of a province. Windu will know.

Hello Hugh,
Thank you ever so much for your help. I did get in touch with Windi and told me, It is a Village Leader/ Chief of Village Command Breast Badge from the 1980s.
Thank you ever so much again.

Hello, I pick up a large grouping of Jordanian Army Insignia. Most of which I was able to identify but these remaining three have me puzzled. Would anyone happen to have a clue as to what unit that these insignias belong to?

I am guessing one of the wings of one of the Japanese Puppet Governments?

Hello, I recently got these insignia from someone who was doing some work in Kuwait, a few years ago.
Would anyone happen to know what they are for? I was told that the Yellow and Green are Kuwaiti National Guard but what units?
I am guessing the tank is armored???
