    1. Hello Gentlemen!

Can you help me to identify the maker of this FJO? I cant see the makers mark on the ioop, it's sewn.

The order is bronze, but the crown looks like gilded silver. There is no an enamel in the central medallions.

      Thanks in advancebeer.gif

      Nobody knows? :(

    2. Sergio - thanks again! Wonderful information.

Do you happen to know what Division or Front this artillery brigade supported during WWII?

The brigade was a part of 12th order of the Red Banner and order of Hmelnitsky artillery division of a breakthrough of General headquarters. The division passed a fighting way from Kursk operation to a capture of Berlin.

These divisions were powerful fire units and intended for quantitative and qualitative strengthening of army artillery at break strong and deep lines of german's defense.

    3. Sergio - thank you very much for this information! Very interesting that even a far away logistical base unit had high awards and a veteran badge.

In WWII it was 104th Prague order of Red Banner and order of Suvorov brigad of howitzer artillerye. As it often happens, the famous artillery unit which was taking part in war, was transformed further and now it is a base of storage artillery weapon, but it's kept the initial honourable name.

    4. Well, as soon as I identified the ribbons on the suspension (one of the left is red/white; one on the right is green/yellow) as the Order of the Red Banner and the Order of Suvorov - 2nd Class, the wording became crystal clear as the names of the two orders.

And the top word seems to be "Prague"

So - Prague, Order of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov 2nd Class; 30 Years; Artillerist. Dates of 1-5-43 1-5-73

Any idea what connection there is to all of this?

    5. Dear Sergio ,

That Medal which was called Sanayi (Industry) Medal and also Iftihar Medal ( PRIDE Medal) because of in 1853 there was the first Iftihar Medal made ,

not mix the one which you mentioned here , we usually call it here in Turkey as Iftihar ve Sanayi Medal. This one which we are talking about started to be awarded

      from 1883 - 84 .

What i wish to explain here is , this medal one of the most popular medal in the German Bars after the Medal of Merit because it was not Only awarded for Industrial fields ,

as you can understand from the name , it was also warded for the service and help to the Ottoman Empire and also to the Sultan , Valor and heroism.

Please do not think that it is an only Industry Medal.

      All the best ,

      Avsar IBAR

Ps: I feel like the gold Iftihar Sanayi Medal in your second picture , in the bar is a later Gold Plated Silver one.

Many thanks for your info! beer.gifbeer.gifbeer.gif

    6. Hello People,

I have these 2 Galipoli Stars manufacture by BB&Co. Both looks like OK for me, but they are differents in some points. I think that one have your hinge repariert. It is correct? Some opinions, please... Maybe manufacture in different periods: before 1918 and in Weimar Republic...

      Regards,

      William Schmidt

In my opinion TWMs are identical. Differences are caused by that a pin of the second award was soldered and at heating overlays of the obverse were disconnected. Then they were soldered again but with small displacement concerning an initial position. That's why there is some differences of the obverses.

    7. Dear Gents!

Sometimes Turkish Gold and Silver Sanayi (industry) Medals are found in german medal bars. Is there anybody knows what the criteria were for awarding of German soldiers by Sanayi Medal in the First World War? For what merits and for what category of military men they were intended?

      Thanks in advance!

    8. I am not 100% sure, but I think that the sabers and bar on the Liyakat Medal are mounted upside-down.

      Can someone confirm?

      Either way, a beautiful bar.

You are 100% right: the clasp with the turkish inscription and sabers for the Sanayi Medal is mounted upside-down. But it was probably easier to mount this detail from the point of view of the medal bar-maker. And the sense of a turkish inscription was not clear for the majority of Europeans. The basic detail of this clasp probably were sabres.
