    Commander 86. Infanterie-Brigade: 10 Jan 1919 - 30 Sep 1919

    Befehlshaber der Infanterie in Reichswehr-Brigade 1: 15 May 1920 - 30 Sep 1920

    Infanterief?hrer I: 1 Oct 1920 - 31 Dec 1921

One of my uncles, Gen Lt. Hans Ehrhardt (22 Nov 1865 - 22 Dec 1946), served in these roles during these dates. Does anyone know what these units were? Did they have names such as Lutzow? I too have no book or other material on this period.

    Thanks.

Those aren't Freikorps, they were units of the transitional 200,000 strong "?bergangsheer" aka Provisional Reichswehr.

Brigade 1 at that period was part of Wehrkreiskommando I. The 16 May 1920 Stellenbesetzung shows Commander Generalmajor Ehrhardt (ex Inf Rgt 173), GSO Hptm Richard Speich (ex Pio Bn 27) and Orderly Officer Oberlt Grafe (ex Gren Rgt 4).

Units were Reichswehr- (prefix to all units)

    Sch?tzen Rgt 1,

    Sch?tzen Rgt 2,

    Artillerie Rgt 1,

    Schwere Artillerie Abteilung 1,

    Fahrabteilung 1,

    Nachrichten Abteilung 1,

    Pionier Bataillon 1,

    unnumbered affiliated Minenwerfer Kompagnie,

    unnumbered affilaited Eisenbahn Kompagnie, and

    Kraftfahr Abteilung 1

    No garrison locations were shown.

The 1 October 1920 Reichsheer Stellenbesetzung shows Infanterief?hrer 1 with headquarters in Allenstein as part of 1st Division. He then had a bit more support staff-- Speich still with him as 3rd staff officer, under Majors Th?mmel (ex iG XIV AK) and Hosemann (ex Pio Bn 25), with Hptm Loehning (ex Inf Rgt 150) rounding out the team.

No, that was presumably the OLD army, awaiting demobilization.
