lach470 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I have a post 1916 steel Saxon buckle (48mm) and have now added a 50mm brass example to the collection! You can clearly see the difference in size when the two are side by side. Now - I thought 50mm buckles had that "step" or "notch" on the sides of the buckles - but this one doesn't. Also of note that this buckle is one piece issue - most of the 50mm were two piece buckles weren't they? Just another example to show that different manufacturers produced different types of buckles perhaps?Maybe this is a 1895to 1915 model that was produced in the 50mm size (instead of 48mm) but without the "steps" and the two piece construction? In any case, it's a welcome addition! I thought I'd post a few pics!Cheers!Rob
