    Does anyone know what happened to ID tags belonging to a member of the forces killed during the Great War?

    I believe French soldiers had a small oval disc worn around the neck and one on the wrist. Were both, only one or none kept with the body for burial? Was one of them sent home to the next of kin?

    Thanks for any help.
