Hi guys, this marking is found on the handle of a German WW1 Mauser bayonet. Can you tell me, which unit is this? /if this means a unit.../

    VIII.14.2.K.115

    Thanks!

It would be a perfect match to this if there was an X in front of the VIII (for XVIII. Armeekorps) 1914

2nd Company/115th Hessian Life Guards Infantry Regiment.

Thank you very much, Rick! The bayonet belongs to a friend. From the picture, maybe it did not have a X, but I asked him to examine it carefully. Again from the picture, the last number looks to me possible 6, but again I asked him to check that in hand, too

    Hello,

I don't think that it is the Infantry regiment 115.

In his book (The Imperial German Regimental Markings), Jeff Noll indicate several same markings on bayonets, and he read :

"Armeekorps VIII, Landsturm Infanterie Bataillon 14, company 2".

115 is the number of the bayonet.

    Best regards.

    Stephan
