Guest Rick Research Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Not sure what these are actually called, so apologies if my attempts to "search" didn't turn up any existing thread on similar objects.Don't know if this is even true, but I've been told that badges like this were attached (with wires during? or with screws after?) to automobile bumpers/fenders for point-to-point cross country map relays sponsored by the DDAC.I've seen a number of different ones from different years in the 1930s, all WW1 ship related-- but that may simply be a coincidence of where my old sources were. This one (and only one) is from the Nachlass of later Konteradmiral August B?ning (1891-1964), who in 1934 was a Marine Stabszahlmeister on the staff of the 2nd Admiral Baltic Station/instructor at Naval School M?rwik:Maybe typing the German term "Zielfahrt" will increase the odds of successful Search Function.
