Riley1965 Posted August 6, 2008 Share Posted August 6, 2008 This medal was established in 1928 to honor those who took part in regaining Polish independence after 100 years of imprisonment by Austria, Russia and Germany. It was awarded to all military and civilian public services personnel who served in active status between 11 November 1918 to 11 November 1928 for a minimum of five years. The medal has a bust of Marshal Jozef Pilsudski. The reverse depicts a farmer plowing a field with the years 1918-1928 below. The medal is 35mm in diameter. It is suspended from a pale blue ribbon.
