I think I wore my ribbons as a bar of 5, latterly a bar of 3 over 4 seemed a better balanced option than 2 over 5.

Thanks for the inputs. It sounds as though it is, to some extent, a matter of personal taste. The next question - Assume 14 ribbons (quite a lad) with a four / five / five distribution. Are the top four centred over the others or set off to the right side? I seem to remember both patterns.
