leigh kitchen Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) Rifle Brigade dark green on black, post circa 1960 "smaller" sized chevrons, renamed 3rd Greenjackets (regiment) 7/11/58, merged with Ox & Bucks LI & KRRC on 1/1/66 to form the new regiment The Royal Greenjackets. The RB formed the 3rd Battalion of the RGJ, which wore such insignia in dark green on black, but with yellow thread detail.Worn 1960's, but I don't know where the RB / 3 GJ were stationed during that period.Igor posted this IDF wall plaque to the Band of 3 GJ, May 1963, so it looks like the Band at least was in Israel then - but that does'nt mean that the rest of the Battalion was, tho' it's perhaps an indicator that they were stationed somewhere out that way for a while around that time.http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3200...l=Green+Jackets Edited February 2, 2009 by leigh kitchen
