Megan Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Lovely, thank you for sharing. Is the bar actually supposed to be worn right at the top like that, do you think? How is it attached to the ribbon?
Guest Darrell Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Lovely, thank you for sharing. Is the bar actually supposed to be worn right at the top like that, do you think? How is it attached to the ribbon?I would not usually think so. I would guess because of the unique tapered effect of the ribbon, that's the only spot it would fit correctly. It appears it was sewn in place right behind the clasp.
Guest Darrell Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Here is a comment that Mark Sellar over at "medalcollectors.com" wrote.++++++++++++++++Darrell,Well done on landing a fine medal to a desireable police force. Medals in general to Fijiian forces, both military and civil are not only rare on the market, but are usually very keenly contested by a handful of dedicated niche/specialist collectors. To this day I am still waiting for my first medal named to a unit from Fiji.By contrast British medal to Fijiians who have served in HM Forces, are are these days far more prolific than medals to indiginous Fijiian forces.Yours aye,Mark++++++++++++++++++
