    Hello Gentlemen,

I know its the wrong place to put my question, but i dont know where I can post it ...

    My doubt is :

What?s mean the number in parenthesis in a promotion date record ?

    Ex. :

    F?hnrich: 19.11.08

    Leutnant: 19.8.09

    Oberleutnant: 24.7.15

    Hauptmann: 15.7.18 (15)

    Major: 1.6.31 (4)

    Thx in advance

    regards

Seniority within that date of rank.

Here is a sample page from the secret 1 May 1944 Seniority List that Glenn found:

It was much more complicated in Imperial times when seniority suffixes could be something like W22w.

Officer Rank "X" on 01.02.4X #2 was senior to Officer Rank "X" promoted on 01.02.4X #3.

Bear in mind that SENIORITY of German officer ranks often had nothing to do with WHEN they were actually promoted, since seniority could be retroactive, accelerated, or changed so the same person might have TWO "rank dates" while in the same rank over time.
