TacHel Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Just found myself a nice low (enough) number (#2640) example!
Roman Slivin Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Just found myself a nice low (enough) number (#2640) example! Order #2640 in my opinion a copy.
Roman Slivin Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 OK... Why?For the several reasons.1. Not original enamel.2. Not accurate drawing.3. Not correctly written numberEtc.I can be mistaken certainly but if you show largely I will tell precisely.
TacHel Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Seems like a heck of a lot of work in making an intricate and enameled copy for an award that is easily accessible for a mere $150 to $200...But heh, I'll take better and closer scans and post them. After all, the aim here is to learn and share that knowledge.

After all, the aim here is to learn and share that knowledge. Now the prices have fallen because of crisis. But even now such award in Russia cannot be bought more cheaply 1000 USD.There is such firm selling copies:http://www.capral-new.ru/catalog.php?tovar_id=217Earlier they sold also copies of awards of the Russian Federation, but now it is problematic.

Nice quality stuff too. Nice enough to fool some unwary buyers!
Roman Slivin Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 This firm sold such copies earlier. Now they can be met often in eBay. :violent:
TacHel Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Aaaaaaaaaaaah... And, CRAP! That looks familiar... Thanks Roman.
Roman Slivin Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Frank,I did not wish you to upset. These are 100 % original Order.
TacHel Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Here's a bigger scan of mine... I won't be offended at all if it turns out to be a copy Roman. Disappointed but not offended.
TacHel Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 :banger: Cпасибо... Я не сержусь... Возможно немного, против продавца...
Roman Slivin Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Cпасибо... Я не сержусь... Возможно немного, против продавца...At Russian collectors such seller is called - фуфлогон.P.S. I have nothing to correct in your Russian. Probably only "против" to replace "on".

Guest Darrell Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Appears Megan's has rivets. The second has make believe rivets
TacHel Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 It's actually more than that. Like Roman mentioned, the quality of the enamels alone is quite different.
