TacHel Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Commemorative medal instituted on 5 June 2002 by decree of the Interior Minister. Awarded to military and civilian personnel of the ministry or to retired officers or civilian personnel of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation who served faultlessly for 20 years or more. The official stamp on the accompanying award document is from the Interior Troops (National Guard).
TacHel Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Recently found out that this medal was produced by at least 8 different makers and that at least 3 completely different designs exist. To date I have only seen the variants shown in the previous post and in this one worn on uniforms. A slight variation to this design exists where the wreath is actually gilded. I have been unable to find any documentation as to possible differing award criteria for the different variants.
TacHel Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 This recently found award document surprisingly showing 2 variants suggests that the award criteria does not differ from one design to another.
TacHel Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Here finally is the third official design. You'll notice slight variations denoting these 2 medals came from different makers. Apologies for small pics, they're all I could find. Still no idea as to whether the different designs had different award criteria.
