waffen ss rabit fur cap original or old repro?

WWII Waffen SS Fur Cap? with metal skull & eagle,size 57,green wool cap with dark rabbit fur lined,type cap was it worn fighting in Russia? & Battle of the Bulge?.Excellent condition with some rabbit fur shedding.Eagle & skull both marked on back.The lining is light grey and maker marked- BAUMSTER-HEISLER, BERLIN 02, HERSTELLER,O.MULA and size 57 and stamped 1944.Tyes and button loop when side flaps are down

previous owner from america claims it was bought from someone a trade/collector in austria!

A genuine cap? But anyone can stick a couple of badges, genuine or otherwise on it. Can't tell from a couple of photos alone, unless an expert collector recognises givewaways in the insignia.
