sscollector Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 iam not sure about this one could anyone look at my pics and please tell me what they think???WWII Waffen SS Fur Cap? with metal skull & eagle,size 57,green wool cap with dark rabbit fur lined,type cap was it worn fighting in Russia? & Battle of the Bulge?.Excellent condition with some rabbit fur shedding.Eagle & skull both marked on back.The lining is light grey and maker marked- BAUMSTER-HEISLER, BERLIN 02, HERSTELLER,O.MULA and size 57 and stamped 1944.Tyes and button loop when side flaps are downprevious owner from america claims it was bought from someone a trade/collector in austria!all i know anyone know the value of a cap like this?
leigh kitchen Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 A genuine cap? But anyone can stick a couple of badges, genuine or otherwise on it. Can't tell from a couple of photos alone, unless an expert collector recognises givewaways in the insignia.
