Guest Rick Research
Do you ever find these with the owner's name engraved? I have never seen one that was not plain... which I always thought was odd since so many Crosses--official State AWARDS after all--were personalized. (Germans gave each other swords as presents alllllll the time....)
Iver
Engraved name never, but I have seen an mirror-engraved monogram, so it could be used as a seal... a friend is selling it.. :D Edited May 11, 2009 by Iver
Mervyn Mitton
Iver - would it be possible to see a picture of each side of the blade ? This is an interesting period of history.
