Next question for the magic gurus of gnomhausen.........

High ranking officer with prussian crown neck order and a 1870 iron cross with 1895 oakleaves - photograph is taken in HALBERSTADT

and the writing on the reverse says:

" Georg 1900 beim Abgang nach China " (something like: Georg 1900 on the way to China)

    So, who is Georg???

Thanks for every information and help!!!

There is no task too obscure for the Research Gnome Collective--

Georg FREIHERR VON GAYL (1850-1927) at that time Oberst commanding Infantry Regiment 27. Later General der Infanterie zD and recipient of the Pour le Merite and other awards too numerous and heavy to wear at the same time.
