HeikoGrusdat Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I am absolutely not shure about the medal of this man - and of course not about the shoulderboards... I can`t find any 100% matching head for the one on the medal and the right time period - or I am simply confused of checking too many photos today..... please help!!!
Beau Newman Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 The shoulder board looks like it might be the 153rd Infantry. My guess on the medal would be the later Georg Sachsen-Meinegen SEHO Medal.
HeikoGrusdat Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 ah of course - I was a bit blind........ then it is a peacetime SEHO-medal before 1914 , right?
Guest Rick Research Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 That is the M1913 Prussian XV Years Service Cross, so dates no earlier than that.No name on back? Somebody of his rank would have received either a Gold Medal with Xs Spange or a Verdienstkreuz X during the war... and those Rolls have been done.
HeikoGrusdat Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 unfortunately no name or anything else on the reverse.... all that I can give you is his complete family
Guest Rick Research Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Ahhhhhh. That confirms it. The more I squinted at the medals the more I am now sure that is the M1913 XV Years Service Cross for all three Ernestine Duchies police forces-- center disk--on dark green ribbon. The rest of this uniform confirms it. He's not army, he's Gendarmerie.
HeikoGrusdat Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 That sounds very interesting........but if he is Gendamerie what is this on his shoulderboards???? Anybody a similar pic to show?
