Gordon Williamson Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 But this one is a rather elderly Police Officer transferred into the Military Police. A mere ( considering his age and host of medals) Leutnant der Feldgendarmerie.
Gordon Williamson Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 Hoping that Rick can ID his rack of predominantly WW1 awards. No 2 looks like East Front Medal and I can see the Police Long Service Award. Though No 1 was EK, but he has the EK ribbon in the buttonhole with the Spange.
Guest Rick Research Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 He does indeed. "Full regalia" on that old Leutnant (must have been a Meister bumped up). 1) EK2 1914 2) 1941/42 East Medal 3) Hindenburg Cross X 4) Prussian long service award (so an ex-career NCO) 5) Polizei 25 6) Hungarian WW1 Commemorative Medal 7) Bulgarian WW1 Commemorative Medal Great portrait.
Gordon Williamson Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 ThanksRick. You da Man! Knew you'd have them all ID'd in a nano-second or two. Sadly no ID on the guy, only thing on the reverse is a date 6 April 1943. This guiy certainly put in more than his fair share of "time". Also noticed thanks to our good friend Epson a rather unusual two coloured twist cord slip around the base of his shoulder strap.
