Glory Days Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Gentlemen This Camouflage BDU Shirt and Matching Cap set dates back to Iran during the early period of the Iran-Iraq War. Does anyone have any information as to what Iranian military units wore this pattern, dates of service/discontinuation and what is its origin? Was this set manufactured in Iran with imported fabric? Or were these uniforms sold to Iran as pictured form other countries? Since this is an early piece, it may be a left over from the Shah period, remaining in use during the early phase of the Iran-Iraq War out of necessity. The design of the pleated pockets, epaulettes and buttons are very different from US pattern BDU's during the same time period. They also differ from those similar to the US Woodland pattern recently purchased by Iran from China which seems to follow the US cut and design. I will appreciate your comments. Thank you
