thegreatescape Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Do any members have a particular interest in WWII Pow Logbooks? I'm looking for information particularly in relation to Stalag Luft III and The Great Escape. They seem to be extremely rare. I'm aware that one was auctioned in Aus a year or so ago, along with a Rolex watch, and then another appeared in auction in Scotland earlier this year. But they're about the only two I've come across after scouting online. I have one of the YMCA Logs which belonged to an RAF POW in the historic North Compound and contains a description of the night of the Escape as it unfolded. There's also an actual book called 'Spotlight on Stalag Luft III' by Scangriff, though again research online has thrown up very little other than a couple of copies in National Libraries. It was written by former member's of the camp newspaper, including Paul Brickhill, and I think privately published. I would be interested in learning more from anyone with a similar interest in the subject.
