An old trench game

After seeing the link to an online trench warfare game posted by Claudius, I thought I'd post a photo of my 'manual' trench warfare game although the official name is trench football.

You may be able to see the silver ball in the photo which has some rust and therefore doesn't always go in the intended direction.

It can sometimes give me no end of fun. Does anyone have anything similar?

Tony - unusual and very good condition for it's age. Are you thinking that it was used for amusement by the troops in the trenches ? I would have thought more for home sale, with the interest generated by the War ?

No Mervyn, I would think it was probably a child's game. for children around 10-12 years old maybe and only in families that could afford such games/toys.
