ItemCo16527 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Hi all, I have a WWII-era battledress jacket that I'm selling, and someone has told me that the patches on it are not originals. I bought this jacket almost 10 years ago, and the seller assured me they were originals. I was wondering if someone here would be able to give me an expert opinion. Thanks!
Wood Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) Well I'm pretty sure that the Pegasus patches are not wartime, can't say I like them at all. What date is the tunic? Pete Edited June 9, 2010 by wood
ItemCo16527 Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 I believe it's dated 1942 from what a prospective buyer told me. Another told me the patches are outright fakes.
Wood Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 The tunic should have a white label inside with a lot of blurb and a date (They repro these lables now) So it may even be a post war tunic. I am no great expert on para insignia, but the other bits look too bright.
ItemCo16527 Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 Thank you for your input. I'll be selling it as a put-together now.
