    Hello Everyone,

What do members think of this Studentbund Buckle. Its the first one I've seen, makes it difficult for me to form a judgment. There's no makers mark. What do members think, a original piece ? Any information appreciated.

    Regards

    Alec

Hi. Unfortunately - it's not an original piece but rather a well known reproduction. These buckles are hard to find....it took me about 10 years before I was finally able to land a real one - and they don't come cheap!! All have the Sieper and Son logo on them (M4/38) and all real ones are marked in one of two possible manners and are alum. made....not steel.

I would stay away from the example you've shown....it's not good. I do have pics of my buckle - but they are too large to post on here at the moment. I'm short on time - will resize and post later as time allows....

    Cheers!

    Hi Rob,

Thanks for the post and the snips its of information. I did after reading it, look through a number of military forums that have substantial belt & buckle forums, came across pictures of genuine student buckles as you say all were aluminium pieces. I didn't see any offer, you write you had a ten year wait - phew don't think I've so much patience, what would I be looking at to buy a real piece. The one I showed went for 72 euro. Again, thanks for the information.

    Regards

Hi Alec....I did see your posts on the other forums. Always good to ask around! ;)

I think it's common to see real examples go from about $400 to $600US. They aren't cheap - that's for sure. Hope that helps!

    Cheers!
