Supt Ernest Brind had just been promoted to Supt (end April 1929) and his posting to L Div was his first job at that grade.

As mentioned before Divisions were headed up by a Supt including the river section (Thames = TA).

5th Div (Pembroke Dockyard) was originally headed by a Supt but due to the small size of the division, the post was downgraded to that of a Chief Inspector. The Dockyard had been closed by the time this photo was taken.
