My Small French Medals Collection

Hello everyone I just started collecting French WWI medals they did play a big part in the liberation of the Arab states from the Ottoman Empire which helped build Iraq.

Congratulation for a very nicely displayed collection. My best wishes for its rapid expansion which I am sure you will enjoy..

The medal on the right of the upper row with the black-red-black ribbon was occasionnally awarded to French troups, but it is really a Belgian commemorative award.for the battles along the Yser river (I believe!) during WW1.

I don't think they have any military siginificance, just a part of the decorating pattern of the whole presentation

I agree with Veteran, just decoration.

The 2 top ones though should normally be reversed.
