TacHel Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 (edited) Beautiful items! When I was stationed in Germany, I used to regularly hit the flea markets and antiques markets in Belgium and the Netherlands. I didn't only purchase ODMs, I came out with dozens of large Royal Delft pieces and complete sets, not the cheaper smaller modern stuff, I mean the older stuff. You could still buy incredible treasures in some of the smaller places. The younger people wanted modern furniture in their homes, incredible family treasures dating back multi generations were on tables in flea markets at ridiculously low prices... It wasn't only China or porcelaine, solid oak century+ old furniture to give you goose pimples just from admiring them... Oh how I wish an airman made more money in those days! Mervyn Mitton Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 A big difference - it is always a good thing when an expert collector shows an original with a copy. Mervyn

Mervyn Mitton Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Another attractive piece for the collection Robin. I find that I more drawn to this style of pottery, the more examples you show. As for being an 'expert' - you probably know more about the genre then any other Member - so that makes you our "expert" !
