Guest pikemedals Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 today i just order a ww1 pair from fred walland catalogue named to RME.4734 PTE.E.J.HARRISON R.M.E. i always wanted a pair to this unit. looking for any information on this unit. did the royal mariners engineers only went to france. am sure the engineers was around from late 1917 to the end of 1918.the royal marines engineers must be a small number of men.i did see somewhere was about 8000 men.i seen a single bwm and a silver war badge named to royal mariner engineers in the past.but never a pair. am still looking for rarer pair to the royal mariners labour corps.i think this unit was only about 300 men. my great- grandfather was in the royal mariners labour corps.his trio is named as ASC on his 1915 star and RMLC on the pair.i dont know where his medals are have been sold or some long lost family member got them ?.so guys anything on the royal marines engineers will be welcome paul
