researcher Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 An old enquiry I know but if you're still seeking information about him, Hotine's service record is available at the National Archives. It can be downloaded from their documentsOnline here: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/Details?uri=D8274378 Lee
Mervyn Mitton Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Lee - welcome to GMIC. I hope members will make a note of your link - if they don't already have it on file. I wouldn't think their fee is excessive. Mervyn
researcher Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Thank you for the welcome Mervyn. Once the National Archives have digitised a file it usually can be purchased for a reasonable price from them. Although getting copies of files that haven't been digitised yet is considerably more expensive. Useful things that are digitised include WWI RAF officer service records, some WWI war diaries and most of the WWII RAF Operations Record Books. Also most of the WWII War Cabinet Minutes can be had for free from TNA's website. Lee
