He was commisioned in 1909 by the Governor General of the Transvaal. I have not been able to locate any history on the unit and what their establishment was. Does anybody have any details on the dates of their existence and any background to them? The only reference I have found is a basic badge description in Colin Owen's book. The reference works by Tylden and Curzon on South African regiments and badges respectively have no references that I could find. Regards, Will
