Markus Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 This is not my area of expertise, so I don't know if this section of the forum has any interest in picture postcards of the Kaiser era or how common these items are. Going through some of my old photo postcards I tripped across them. This first postcard is a photo collage of the Kaiser family, sent from Berlin on 3/23/1914.
Markus Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 The second postcard is of Prinz Ernest August (Herzog zu Braunschweig und Lüneburg) with Prinsessin Victoria Luise ( Von Preussen).
IrishGunner Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) I am interested in Kaiser Reich postcards, especially interesting to see how the front picture relates to the sender and the note. Sometimes the notes written on the back are quite interesting when they are to/from soldiers. Also, regimental or division stamps make them more interesting. Edited October 26, 2012 by IrishGunner
Markus Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 The 3rd postcard is of Kronprinz Wilhelm.
Markus Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 Hi Irish Gunner, The back of the Kaiser Family postcard is rather domestic, " The Warmest Wishes for you and your family from your friend, always Emmy" sent from Berlin to Buenos Aires Argentina. The other two just have Virginia Gutierres name on the back, so all these seem to have been sent by the same person.
IrishGunner Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Berlin to Buenos Aires Argentina And written in Spanish. Seems like a bit of an interesting story there to me...
