Mervyn Mitton
I bought this sword recently - having been informed that it had been in the seller's family for many years - and that they came from Switzerland. I think in fact that it is a German infantry or artillery officer's sword. Strangely there is no maker's mark or name. However, the name EDWIN is on one of the locket plates - and this usually indicates that it was given as a 'passing out' gift to a young officer. Have a look and seewhat you think ? .......................................http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_12_2012/post-6209-0-07431200-1356616278.jpgclick..................................
