Bernhard H.Holst Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) Hello readers. I recently acquired this Knights Cross of the Legion of Honor which is said to have belonged to a Saxon officer and bestowed to him during the time of Saxony's alliance with Napoleon I A maker's mark on ribbon ring but cannot be identified. Something to add to my very few items in memory of the Emperor Napoleon I. Bernhard H. Holst Edited June 21, 2014 by Bernhard H.Holst
Veteran Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 This looks very much like a 3rd type Napoleon I Legion of honor badge.

Veteran Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) As an addition, the hallmark on the suspension ring looks like Roman lictor's fasces which would be the true proof. That was the hallmark for silver during the First Empire. Could you confirm that? Nice period piece. Edited July 16, 2014 by Veteran

My last of the posted images reflects that. But it is not more detailed on the ring. Bernhard H. Holst Edited July 16, 2014 by Bernhard H.Holst
